samsung has become complacent. no dolby vision (want the best netflix quality you need that). hdr10 is not enough, customers need both formats (hdr10 & dv). limited apps availabile: android have tons, samsung has the least amount of app available. no tv station app like hoopla (library app), cbc, cnn, bbc, discovery etc. samsung tv plus has nothing good. updates: samsung only update netflix, amazon prime, youtube, disney etc for 1 to 2 years. android tv gets updates from google for years & years. ads on the tv-changing privacy policy don’t prevent it. samsung uses to support feature that their competitors never uses to 10 to 15 years ago now they don’t. sony, tcl and hisense have all these missing features that samsung lacks. samsung: please do something soon, no scripted reply please!!

this is my 5th samsung tv purchase and i have to say it has been the worst. the only reason i purchased this tv was for my playstation 5, which looks really good on it. here is where it gets ugly, i can't even watch netfilx because it is so dark. i tried changing the settings to get it as bright as possible but no luck. i'm not sure what the issue is but my samsung led tv i bought in 2014 looks 10x better than this q80t while watching netflix! i have read a lot of reviews and people are complaining about the same thing, too dark! the local dimming sucks and i wish it could be turned off completely. i hope samsung can resolve this with an update and i wish i would have return the tv when i had the chance.

fought with the new tv for several days trying to fix a problem with the sound where the background music in various shows would drown out the voices. was just about to return the tv to costco. but as part of wandering through the menu settings, noticed the "general > intelligent mode" option which was set on in my case. suspicious of it, i turned it off and , voila, the sound started presenting as normal like our several other samsung tvs. i would have rated this tv 5 stars if samsung had provided a tip on sound concerns with intelligent mode in their trouble shooting material. i'd have to say that mode is anything but intelligent. pretty stupid that it screws up the sound on so many of the common shows we watched using it.

i bought this tv in may. since then the picture has been great with random issues with the gamemode feature. it would randomly turn on and off. now the gamemode feature just keeps flickering from on to off. i manually turned gamemode off and that solved that. today i was playing videogames so i turned it on. the tv would not display the signal from my xbox even though the tv was saying that it was connected to the xbox. i reset the tv to try to resolve the problem and now the remote doesnt work. now i need to download the app and use that. but that app wont connect to the tv even though it shows up on the app. it asks me to enter the code on the tv but there is no code. samsung wint be available for weeks for support. this is aweful service. now i have a massive $1300 paperweight.

according to samsung's own website and tech support, no apps are supported on this television model or any of their 2020 qled models. i discovered this after installing the pandora app on my new q80 tv and running into an issue with it. when i contacted samsung tech support they stated that the app was not supported and provided me with a link which confirmed (https://www.samsung.com/us/appstore/app/000000021563-compatible). when i looked up other popular apps like netflix, they also were not listed as supported (https://www.samsung.com/us/appstore/app/000000021491-compatible). i then filtered the list of apps to show only those that are supported on the 2020 qled televisions and none showed up. why would you spend $1,200+ on a smart tv that does not support any apps?
