My New house had this product installed in it and it hasn't given me any problems to date (1 year using). This product puts out enough light to cook by and the fan does a good job of exhausting the cooking fumes created on the stove cooktop. On low speed the fan is pretty quiet and even on high it isn't abnormally noisy. I would recommend this product to anyone.
